Jo Carter
Sound Practitioner
Jo’s journey into the world of sound healing began when she was looking for emotional support; and following a friend’s recommendation, she attended her first gong bath where she experienced a sense of great peace and stillness..
Realising how powerful and healing sound could be on so many levels, she wanted to learn about more and share the therapeutic value with other people through her own practice.
After Gong Master training courses with Sheila Whittaker and amazing sessions with Aidan McIntyre and Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux she began to hold individual and group soundbaths creating nurturing and seasonally themed sessions .
Richard Farrington
Sound Practitioner
The Gong Master training at Hawkwood in 2022 with Aiden Mcintyre and …..Burford gave Richard the impetus to change after over forty years as a practicing sculptor and public artist. Experiencing and creating the magical sounds of gongs and Himalayan singing bowls opened doors for him. He found a similar creativity in free form sound creation that was in tune with making sculpture; but weightless and without any material outcome. No storage problems just a direct transmission of sonic energy to listeners at the sound baths he holds.
The current exhibition at Rapsley with SAOS is an opportunity to see his sculptures and hear sounds in a beautiful outdoor setting. Hee has carefully positioned sculptures in the landscape with installations of gongs and seats set up in the footprint of the Roman Shrine and tunder the Holly tree in woodland at the edge of the field as well as in the medievel barn
