  • soundbath (with Jo and Richard) is a deeply relaxing group experience where you lie or sit comfortably  listening to instruments such as gongs and Himalayan singing bowls being played; infusing the room with healing sound. The vibrations help calm the nervous system, ease stress and support mental and emotional balance. At Soundshine’s seasonal soundbaths, you simply relax and listen as the sound unfolds around you.

  • Soundshine holds regular group soundbaths and events in and around Alton, Hampshire — regularly at  Chawton Village Hall, as well as at festivals and outdoor gatherings and in ancient sacred places and modern temples such as The White Eagle Lodge and Harry Edwards Foundation.   • private 1:1 sound therapy session is a personalised healing experience tailored just for you at our intimate Sound Studio in Alton, Hampshire. During these sessions we play gongs and singing bowls that immerse you to facilitate deep relaxation, emotional release, restorative rest, and personal integration.

  • Soundbaths can benefit anyone seeking stress relief, better sleep, emotional grounding, nervous system regulation, a meditative reset or gentle healing support. Whether you’re new to sound healing or an experienced listener and traveller through sound, these sessions adapt to your needs.

  • We generally play for 45 to 60 minutes and ask people to arrive early so they can settle in and begin to relax. We encourage people to enjoy the deep silences that follow a soundbath and offer a snack and a herbal drink as well as time to communicate with each other. There is never any rush. Recently Richard has started doing short sound and movement  sessions with people before they leave.

  • Bed-rolls, yoga mats, duvets, blankets and yourselves for group sessions. At private sessions and one-to-ones we provide all of the necessary comforts. A bottle of water is also a good idea. 

  • You are welcome to come and play the gongs and Singing Bowls at our Sound Studio with our guidance but the group soundbaths are not for participating directly with the instruments. Both group and private soundbaths are open to young and old regardless of experience with no expectations other than to relax, breathe and enjoy the session. But please, if you have any questions feel free to phone us. We welcome new enquiries. The participation is through being there and letting go.

  • Absolutely! A private sound therapy session or a space in a soundbath event makes a thoughtful gift for anyone interested in relaxation, wellbeing and self-care.

  • You can view our events calendar, on the Soundshine website to book a session, join our Wattsapp group for updates or  phone us to make a booking. Likewise with 1:1 sessions bookings and enquiries. We encourage direct messaging on the wattsap page to keep traffic to a minimum and love to chat on the phone.

  • Sound therapy is generally considered safe and deeply relaxing, but if you’re pregnant or have specific health concerns, we recommend checking with your healthcare practitioner before attending. Sessions can often be adapted to suit comfort needs.

  • People often describe a sense of deep calm, emotional lightness, clearer thinking, release of tension and restored energy following a soundbath or private session. Everyone’s experience is unique — and you’re welcome to rest, make notes or quietly reflect afterwards. Our aim is for people to feel like they are smiling all over when they leave.
